Smart Kitchen Technology in the Concept Kitchen 2025

Table for Living was included in a Concept Kitchen 2025 prototype.

The technology consists of a camera and projector positioned above the table and induction coils underneath the table surface. Networked together, they allow the system to recognise objects and their movement and to project a display.

The Living For All kitchen project’s “goal is to improve the family’s quality of life within the house in terms of safety, comfort and energy efficiency, through the use of new home automation devices integrated within the kitchen.”

Features of the Living For All kitchen include:

  • Facial recognition identifies who can access certain areas of the kitchen. Think of this as creating a safer environment for children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities rather than “Big Brother is watching.”
  • The user gets real-time information about the kitchen energy consumption and savings of lighting and appliances to create greater efficiency.
  • A customisable touchscreen interfaces the user can access a network of useful external services, such as shopping home delivery or access to medical/emergency assistance.

Tielsa, a German kitchen manufacturer, offers incredible functionality with the Connected Kitchen. The cabinet modules are all height-adjustable, making this a truly accessible kitchen for all potential users. tielsa:connect, which comes pre-installed, serves as a central unit to control your house, or can be integrated into existing smart tech home systems. Owners can then use the tielsa-app or voice command to: control movement and height of hub modules, open/close cabinets, play music, and adjust lighting.
